Happy Holidays!
We hope the photos below of our annual Holiday Lighting lift your spirits during this season of goodwill! Hundreds gathered at Wardenclyffe for decorating, STEAM exhibits, festive activities, and gift shopping at the TSCW Sales Tent. We blasted a snow machine and enjoyed holiday music and light displays by DJ Jason of AGES Events, with free cookies and cocoa for all. The Lighting Ceremony was launched by Board President Mary Daum, who introduced presentations by Councilwoman Jane Bonner and NY State Representative Jody Giglio, followed by the traditional countdown. Every year we honor TSCW volunteers who make a special impact by asking them to “flip the switch” that illuminates Wardenclyffe at the Holiday Lighting. For 2022, we honored our Volunteer Exhibitors who conduct interactive STEAM exhibits at TSCW events, providing learning experiences for all ages: Steve Matza, Jeffrey Velez, Margaret Foster, Chris Wesselborg, Mary Diane Riotto, Erik Johnson, Barbara Branca, Ed Wilson, James Rizzardi and Rich Gearns. It was a magical moment when they flipped the switch at Wardenclyffe to simultaneously light the trees and displays that attendees and volunteers decorated! Then Santa and Mrs. Claus made a grand entrance in front of Tesla’s historic lab and sat on the tower base to visit and take photos with guests. Thanks to all who helped and celebrated with us!
