Ozone Day and Tesla’s Apparatus for Producing Ozone
September 16, 2021

September 16 is the International Day for Preservation of the Ozone, the protective layer of gas that protects us and the planet from harmful sun rays. The Montreal Protocol was drafted in September 1987 in response to a global agreement to diminish the production and use of ozone-depleting substances and is one of the most successful environmental efforts in history in terms of unifying the world to protect human health, economies, ecosystems, and food security. Learn the remarkable story behind the Montreal Protocol on this UN video.  Cool fact:  Tesla patented an Apparatus for Generating Ozone in September 1896 and the technology is often used today in water purification systems.
