Recycle Your Metal for Tesla and the Planet!
Join us for METAL for TESLA on Saturday, April 20th, in celebration of Earth Day! Recycle your scrap metal and contribute to the preservation of the planet and a historical treasure: Wardenclyffe, the site of Nikola last remaining laboratory. On this special day, every ounce of metal you recycle supports our mission to develop the site into a transformative global science center. Bring your scrap metal donations for drop-off at the Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm. Your participation not only helps conserve resources, reduce energy consumption, and minimize environmental impact but also plays a vital role in supporting the legacy of Nikola Tesla. Tesla, the Tower, and Recycling
In 1917, the 18-story transmitting tower at Wardenclyffe, built by Nikola Tesla, met its fate through demolition and recycling as a means to generate funds. Fast-forward to today, our mission is to amass Metal for Tesla, and to raise funds to renovate Wardenclyffe into a global science center and museum. Since the inception of this endeavor in 2013, we have successfully accumulated 348,792 lbs. or 174.58 tons. Every pound counts!
Gene Genova, a TSCW Board Member, aptly summarizes, “This program completes the circle, echoing the 1917 demolition of the tower for scrap metal. Today, we are raising funds by recycling metal for the restoration of the Tesla Laboratory.”
Your support in this endeavor is invaluable as we strive to safeguard both the planet and the historical legacy of Nikola Tesla’s pioneering laboratory. Thank you for joining us in preserving this remarkable piece of history!
Desirable Recyclables:
